A scandal is an action or behaviour that breaks rules and causes public shock and anger.

Now, I'm not talking about the kind that you see in the news or in those trashy magazines, you know, this high-profile person embezzled money from wherever or this politician had an affair with so-and-so.

Behaviors and conversations that stir, that challenge social norms and expectations, that get us thinking, yeah? Jesus was all about those.

Did you know that Jesus was a stirrer? He upset a lot of people, yeah? Let's read.

Our passage this morning is from Luke chapter 10, and I think we might have it up on slides.

So we're reading from Luke chapter 10, verses 1 through to 20, and we'll probably just skip a few along the way.

The Lord now chose 72 other disciples and sent them ahead in pairs to all the towns and places he planned.

Don't take any money with you, nor a traveler's bag, nor an extra pair of sandals, and don't stop to greet anyone on the road.

Whenever you enter someone's home, first say, may God's peace be on this house.
