This week we came back to talk about all of ‘Spooky in Love’. Watch the episodes, then join us here as we talk about our overall feelings and takeaways, what we wish had been different, and give a…
Chonyori, played by Park Eunbin, is a chaebol heiress and hotel owner.
She appears flawless on the outside, but behind that, she holds an eerie secret.
Her secret is that she sees ghosts.
Ma Gong-wook, played by Yong Se-jong, is an ace prosecutor with excellent physique, brilliant mind, and righteous personality.
He always obeys his principles and never backs down in the face of injustice.
Cho Nyo-ri and Ma Gong-wook form a unique and unexpected relationship through a strange encounter that follows accidentally and inevitably.
They cooperate to solve cases by using their respective abilities.
Their relationship also develops.
I have some thoughts.
Yeah, it's a clunky little synopsis.
Can we talk about how the first thing that we say about Ma Gong-wook is that he has excellent physique? That's so reductive.
I'm not saying he doesn't.
that's insanely reductive that it's like the very literally the first descriptor that we get for him is that he has excellent physique
like don't make us the bad guys for being like sorry what
because that's fucking weird It is! Like, that's such a problematic way to start.
Like, I think it would be one thing if maybe his career was based on physical prowess, right? Where he was, like, doing...
Or like, I don't know, there's just so much to that, but I can't even think of a good job that he would have where I would be like, and the first thing I'm going to say about him, even before I say what that job is, is that he has excellent physique.
All I can think, which just came to mind, is that the first scene we see between the leads is them fighting them, like physically fighting each other off in a forest.
And I like you said, it would make more sense if it was like his job was based on that because so much of the show is their jobs.
Right.
So, like, we can bring that back, but it...
Maybe that's where this came from.
