Ashley is the Founder of Rebuild A B\*\*\*\*, which is a non-profit that focuses on helping women navigate life after breast cancer. Navigating the menopause, intimacy, and body challenges are what…
So tell us about rebuild a bitch.
Like how did you come up with the idea and what is it all about?
Yeah.
So the nonprofit that supported me when I was going through treatment, They had a component, they had a physical component where we kind of did daily workouts and they would help you modify after surgeries.
And then there was a mental health component to it where you had access to this mental health or mental performance coach is what she called herself.
She's actually one of our coaches now.
But when that organization went away at the end of 2023, it kind of felt like there was a gap and I just felt, I convinced four women from the community to come join me on the board.
And we, I just wanted to hit on things that people don't often talk about.
Like, sure, you can see a therapist and sure, you know, you can get back to the gym.
There's just certain things that I felt like weren't covered as much or talked about as much.
And so I found it really helpful to work with this mental performance coach during my treatment because she would just kind of keep me motivated and try and stay positive and find little joys in every day and things that kind of at the time kept me going.
Um, and I just really wanted other women to have access to that.
Um, and so that grew, we've got, I think five mental health coaches now.
And then, um, in 2025, we started to think, well, what are other things that we struggle with in survivorship? And so, you know, intimacy came up as a new bodies and menopause and all of these symptoms that come with all of these things and trying to adjust to whatever this new life is.
And, um, so then we brought in intimacy coaching.
So, um, just, trying to get like niche areas that don't get as much attention and certainly aren't covered by healthcare.
Correct.
So are any of the other women on the board have, are they survivors or do they have any type of, yep.
All of us.
Yeah.
All of them.
I love
that.
That's so great because then you have a common bond.
So you understand it and you understand all the facets of survivorship because there are so many.
