Trust Starts With Self
Rethinking what trust really requires
This is for all my empathetic and loving people.
My darlings, come to the front.
Come, I'm not going to bite you.
Listen, I'm a very sweet girl too.
And so because I am very sweet just like you and I'm highly empathetic and I feel everything deeply, when things will go wrong in my relationships or in my connections or when people will treat me carelessly or when I'll act in ways that are detrimental to my well-being just so that someone else can feel good about themselves, I will be like, well...
Well, it's because I'm just someone with a lot of love to give.
You know, that's why this and this happened.
That's why so and so happened.
People tend to take advantage of kind people like me.
It's just so unfortunate that I'm so kind and they are so terrible.
But one day I looked at myself and I went, pal girl, why are thou full of shit? Because in what reality can love ever be too much? Have you seen the state of the world? There is no level of loving that can ever be too much.
We need more love.
In fact, we are suffering from not enough love.
So I've had to check myself because when I say that I have a lot of love to give as an answer to why I am suffering, I am pointing to my way of loving as the problem and I refuse.
No, nothing can convince me, nobody can convince me that there is something wrong with loving.
The issue is not the love, it's that you have no boundaries.
You have no boundaries around who gets access to that love, okay? You can have a lot of love to give, but not everybody gets access to that level and that depth that you have to offer.
So I haven't changed how I love.
No, not at all.
But my boundaries have cleaned up the leaks in my connections.
I now relate to people in a way that matches the quality of our connection.
I am certain there are people that know me who I'm sure noticed a switch.
Maybe they can point to a point where something shifted.
These people can still contact me.
They have my number.
This is for all my empathetic and loving people.
