There was a time when I needed to be seen as good.
So I people-pleased, I over-explained, I made myself smaller.
I carried everybody else's emotions while abandoning my own.
For a long time, I thought that was just who I was until I realized some of what I called empathy was connected to a much
deeper
wound.
The fear of being rejected, abandoned, or no longer feeling accepted when I chose myself.
But I'm not that woman anymore.
I've spent too much time healing the part of me that feared abandonment to turn around and abandon myself just to be accepted.
So in this series, we're going there.
The people pleasing, the overgiving, the hypervigilance, and the need to be needed.
And the guilt that comes when you finally start choosing yourself.
