Inside ISO 20022: Adoption, Compliance, and Innovation in Payments

In this episode of Payments Pros, host Carlin McCrory speaks with Frank Van Driessche, head of the ISO 20022 practice at Federal Reserve Financial Services, about the global messaging standard reshaping the payments industry. The conversation covers what ISO 20022 is and why it matters, the practical challenges organizations face in adopting it, and how the standard supports compliance efforts such as AML and sanctions screening. Frank also discusses the innovation opportunities created by richer, more structured payment data, along with the real-world costs and trade-offs involved in rolling out a major standards change across the payments ecosystem. He wraps up with his perspective on what's next for ISO 20022 as adoption continues to expand both domestically and internationally. Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company.
