Starting in our wide receiver room, we got Stephon Diggs versus the rookie Caleb Downs.
Yeah, I'm really excited for this matchup, quite honestly, because going back and watching Caleb Downs from the first matchup, or from the week one, I thought he did a really good job, kind of fit in the run.
Obviously, watch him at Ohio State, like doing the drive to the draft show with Jason.
But I do think that he's probably the worst coverage player, right? When you look at, again, kind of how the defense distributes and offensively, like David Blau's philosophy, you want to try to get a matchup on him, I feel like.
So, digs on him you know Williams on him that seems like something you could exploit a young player like there was a couple third downs in the Giants game where he's in man coverage against a slot receiver and the slot receiver wins for a nice first down and so that's something I feel like you can take advantage of especially if defensively they want to play man-to-man in those situations that's one of the things that kind of sparked the second half resurgence of the commander's offense versus Philly so I look at Cooper Dejean pretty good coverage player they're able to exploit him I think Caleb Downs is kind of in the same boat.
It more just comes down to, I think of those coverage guys, he's kind of the hybrid, right? He's a run fit player, pseudo linebacker, pseudo safety, pseudo nickel.
And those guys just oftentimes don't have the length, speed, the coverage instinct that those guys on the perimeter do.
