Introducting The Final Trace Podcast

So Mackenzie, tonight we're going home again, back to Vincennes, Indiana, a place that just seems to hold more stories than it should.

I agree.

It's so crazy.

For such a small town, we sure weren't small on mysteries.

And it feels like every time we pull a thread in this town, three more come loose.

Right?

And they all start to connect.

Now, we just covered Brooke Baker's story back in Chapter 39, and we only briefly mentioned Lisa.

But since that episode aired, my inbox has been flooded.

Message after message, some about Brooke...

but a lot about Lisa.

Who was she? I've never heard of her.

Can you tell her story?

Hopper, I'm ready for this one.

We were just kids back in 87, but I still remember her name being talked about.

I think that was the first time it really hit me that bad things, they don't just happen somewhere else like you think.

They can actually happen in Vincent's.

I know.

And I've said this before.

Some people just stay with you.

I've carried these names with me for 30 years.

Lisa McCracken, Brent Brand, Brooke Baker, Erica Norman, Jill Slater.

And the reason we tell these stories, even just a chapter of them, is because it keeps them here.

Because the only thing worse than what happened to them is being forgotten.

For 13 years, Lisa McCracken's case sat cold.
