Options Boot Camp 397: Super-Sized VIX Extravaganza

All right, everybody, welcome to the basic training, the portion of the show where we do just that.

We take some basic, even though we're gonna get a little bit more advanced today, so this might be more of a, a, a vol 201.

Perhaps even, dare I say it, a 301.

But if, if you're wondering, when's the last time we talked about VIX on the show, it's been a little while since we did a full deep dive into all things VIX.

It was all the way back really in March of 2022.

We did a two-parter entitled Everything You Wanted to Know about VIX But Were Afraid to Ask in episode 177 and 178 from March 9th and March 16th respectively.

So we got into a lot of the nuances of VIX then, but my goodness, I mean, four plus years, [laughs] it's an eternity in the world of options.

Certainly an eternity in the world of vol.

A lot of new listeners- Have discovered the program since then, so it seems like a good time to do a bit of a refresher.

Like I mentioned, Dan's away, so the cats will play.

We did do a quick little fun vol episode at the beginning of the year, Dan and I.

Forced his feet to the fire.
