The absolute biggest thing is going to sound cheesy, but other writers making friends.

There is nothing that any step up or accomplishment or milestone that I've gotten to was because another writer helps me or because they helped me get there, explain what to do.

Indie authors learn how to do your taxes.

That's a thing.

And I had to get so much help from my author friends.

I had posted on my Instagram story.

I was like, if you're an indie author and use Amazon, DM a girl, please.

Oh, my gosh.

That's one thing that other authors had to help me with.

Formatting the book.

Amazon is very, very picky and... with any sort of formatting.

Of course people pay.

There are people you can pay to do that.

I personally chose to do it by myself and paying someone that is definitely, if I were to do this again, indie publish again, I would feel that as a worthy investment now having the experience of doing it myself.

But again, tech savvy girlies go for it.

But yeah, people helping me with that.

Agenting process.

It was actually the agent I'm working with now who helps me with my query.

So

having, and I believe, don't quote me on this, especially if I work with her in five years, she was an agent's assistant at the time.

And so she was the person who was that first roadblock before your query will ever get to the actual agent.
