My present job is Executive Director of Spectrum Youth and Family Services in Burlington, Vermont.
We work with homeless teenagers and young adults, young people in or leaving the foster care system, young people suffering from mental health disorders and or substance abuse disorders.
Young people have been arrested for committing a crime and are thus justice involved, and young people who live in and have grown up in extreme poverty and extreme family dysfunction.
A big part of my job as executive director is fundraising, convincing wealthy people that our young people are worth investing in and asking them to donate to Spectrum.
We even have a free health clinic next door that the Community Health Center runs for all their medical needs.
