some of the common questions that that we get from the public number one has to be funding

you know we have needs all across the state uh how do you differentiate true needs from wants or desires it's hard to please everybody you know it's just impossible but we want a system that's strong that's robust that's resilient

We've got botanists, archaeologists, I think we've got bat experts.

Biologists, divers, you name it.

A lot of people don't realize that we have our own law enforcement agency within RDOC.

So we have over 2,000 people dedicated.

Their sole purpose is maintaining that large highway system that we have.

We have tried to do a better job in recent years of telling our story and being transparent with the public.

As public servants, we tend to be humble.

As engineers, we tend to be quiet.

But we had a history at R-DOT of doing a fantastic job.

but we didn't do a great job of telling our story and our story

is strong we have a lot of good things to talk about and good things to share and that's what's exciting about this podcast we're going to do more of that

but it also in telling that story it's it's informing the public they need to to and deserve to learn about our we always say they may not like everything we tell them uh but we're going to give them an honest answer that's going to be very transparent
