Another question that we get all the time is our comment is, hey, are not stop building new roads, but just take care of what we have.

Right.

We do hear that, but we also hear the flip side of, hey, when you're going to build a new road, when will you finish Interstate 49 and 57? And back to your previous question, I didn't answer that.

How do we prioritize work? It's a big task.

You know, we have needs all across the state.

How do you differentiate true needs from wants or desires? And so we have a robust system that we've built.

uh the federal highway administration requires us to put together a statewide transportation improvement program and that's the document that we use to do many things it tells our staff what projects they need to be working on developing for the public it tells the public what we are going to deliver for them in the future but back to the question of taking care of what we have versus building new it's it's hard to please everybody you know it's just impossible but We want a system that's strong, that's robust, that's resilient.

So can you just talk about what your vision is behind that?

We have tried to do a better job in recent years of telling our story and being transparent with the public.

As public servants, we tend to be humble.

As engineers, we tend to be quiet.

But we had a history at R-DOT of doing a fantastic job.
