Today Iām bringing you something really specialā A mini-coaching session where I answer a question about how to grow your email list before, during, and after leaving social media. The questionā¦
I occasionally get emails from listeners who love the show and need some support figuring out how all of this can work in their business.
And while I don't, you know, offer a ton of free advice over email, sometimes the questions are so good that I'm like, "I should make a podcast episode about this because all the people need to hear it." And that was the case with today's question.
In this episode, I'm gonna answer a question from Kate Gregory of Queen Bee Hormone Health.
She's trying to leave Instagram, but struggling to grow her email list in a way that makes that feel like a safe and supportive shift instead of just, you know, leaping off the proverbial cliff and taking her business with her.
So I have a lot of ideas for Kate on how to make that change because it's one that I've made myself.
When I left social media, I had to get my followers onto my email list, and I have some ideas for how that can work, as well as a mindset shift that I think is important here.
I've been listening to your podcast over the past month, and I feel really grounded in my decision to leave social media, Instagram specifically.
I'm a women's hormone practitioner, and I have over 5,000 followers, but only about 250 on my email list, and most of my clients have come from word of mouth and not social media, despite years of trying to make that work.
What I'm struggling with now is trying to get people onto my email list before I leave the platform.
I'm planning a live event and have been struggling, posting, trying to advertise it, and having no success.
I've backed way off on posting and feel so much better, but I'm really struggling to get people moved onto my email list, and I wonder what advice you have for this part of the process.
Thanks for anything you can offer and for giving me permission to leave and do business outside social media." All right.
You know, maybe you've built a following on Instagram or TikTok or another social media platform, and you really feel ready to leave, but you're noticing that there's a big difference between the size of your social media following and your email list, and you're worried about making that shift and the impact it might have on your business.
So if that's you, I think you're gonna love this episode, and if you wanna connect with Kate, you can find her at queenbeehormonehealth.com. Now, let me answer Kate's question for all of us.
