so now obviously so you're a mom of two now um how has that changed your art practice and obviously like how much time you can spend on your business what's had to shift
well when I had ocean like I was um still like I had a bit of a break and then I was coming into the studio um but with Sonny, it's just been, you know, it was just impossible.
So I closed that actually, I think a week before he was born or a week before he was due something like that.
I'll keep paying the rent and just have to keep the business going until I can come back to it.
And then, you know, sometimes I'd come in, there'd be bisque pieces that I had sitting there because with the shop, it used to be such high quality.
amount of work coming through the studio you know it's just working every day on pieces so there were still pieces in process that I could put through the kiln and release like a small collection of pieces um and then Alicia was teaching and is still is teaching classes here as well so she teaches in the studio like um a six-week course weeknights and then also weekend classes too And yeah, I've kind of come back to teach.
Was there any tension in winding down the business or were you kind of happy to do it and just say, you know, obviously I'm in a season where parenting is requiring a lot more of me and my attention and my bandwidth and like the business is always going to be here.
Or were you still like finding days where you're like, I just want to get into the studio?
When I went down the shop though, like there was really no question because the shop relied so heavily on the pieces that I made, you know, that it was just like, well, I had to find someone who can throw for me or I have to, you know, just wind it down.
You know, if I want to, again, I can open a shop, but I don't see that in the near future at all.
I'm quite happy doing smaller collections and just releasing them online and having like a few events here and there.
But yeah, I think getting into the studio, you know, there's definitely days that I've been like, I really wish I was in the studio, but I can't be.
