How has your weight affected your social life? A bit more of a serious topic for us, but we have some really thoughtful responses to this one. Plus we have been talking a lot about the physical…
hi
um right it's time for the big debate on the podcast every single week we take a topic that affects us slimmers and we discuss it until it is settled for ever paul
how has your weight affected your social life
Ooh, hello, that's hard hitting.
Yeah, yeah, it might be a bit more serious, this one, than some of the flimsy nonsense we often talk about.
Yeah, it's a good question.
Um...
I mean, I suppose to some extent, if you are 100% on it and you are focused on your goal and there is absolutely nothing that can get in your way, it probably is going to affect your social life because you're not going to want to jeopardize it.
You're not going to want to go out for drinks, a night out or food or whatever.
um but i think those things are only temporary like it's not like they're forever i think you can do that and get to your goal um but i think for me personally like i'm i'm quite okay with not going out and doing those things if it means that my diet stays on plan because when i break my diet it takes me a really really long time to get back into it like a good few weeks and And sometimes it's not worth breaking it for.
Have you been at a
weight, though, where you've not wanted to go out because of how you felt about yourself? Like, have you...
Do you know what I mean? Because of your weight, you've decided, I'm not going to do that because I feel this way about myself or I'm self-conscious.
I don't think so.
But I think when I haven't been happy with how I've looked, it's sort of so extreme that...
That I would order, eat whatever I wanted because I was not in the mindset of losing weight.
I wasn't actively trying to lose weight.
I literally, I felt horrible.
I looked horrible.
I didn't, but I felt that I looked horrible.
And it was so far gone that I was just, it didn't matter.
Like I just ate whatever because- It just didn't matter.
I just didn't care.
Whereas now, because I have lost all the weight and I'm more conscious of it, like I said, I just don't want to undo all of that.
I think it depends what the social things are.
