The country's national team has struggled to win major continental trophies like AFCON and WAFCON, even failed to qualify for FIFA World Cup, and questions have continued to trail the administration of Nigerian football.
Now, following the resignation of the president of the Nigerian Football Federation, Ibrahim Gusau, alongside other executives, many Nigerians are asking whether this is the opportunity to reset Nigerian football.
Others have also raised concerns about accountability, transparency, and the management of the football in the country.
President Bola Tinubu has also directed a comprehensive reform of Nigerian football, with the aim of ending the country's repeated failures in major regional, continental, and global competitions.
Join us in this episode of Nigeria Daily as we ask, after Nigeria's football setbacks, what must change in sport administration? To begin, I reached out to the director of communications of the Nigerian Football Federation, Ademola Olajire, for the federation's position on this development.
