The school holidays can mean later nights, slower mornings, meals at different times and routines becoming a little more relaxed, which is all part of the fun! But then suddenly… **holiday mode is…
Hello and welcome to this episode of Newborn to Teen and Everything in Between.
And today we're going to be talking about routines, but not just any routines.
We're going to be talking about school holiday back to school or nursery holidays back to nursery or school holidays back to work, aren't we? Well, you're looking a bit like I've introduced that quite complicatedly.
I have really, haven't I? But it's kind of about the fact that when you're on holiday, you relax a bit, don't you?
You do.
Which you should do.
Yeah, absolutely.
That's the whole idea.
If you didn't, then...
It wouldn't be a holiday.
And you've got to remember, for those that are off school, it is a five, six week holiday.
Yeah.
Which is a long time.
It
is, yeah.
Most of our holidays are like one week, two weeks, aren't they? But to be off of school for six weeks or off of nursery if they're term time only, that's a really long time.
And what tends to then happen is our little ones actually change their routine completely in a lot of ways anyway, because we're doing things differently.
There's that kind of, do you know what, we'll go to bed a bit later.
We can get up.
They grow
up as well.
Don't they?
Yeah.
But that whole going to bed later, getting up later, we all have a lie in maybe some people aren't that lucky.
And so some of this doesn't, you know, some families they're still really early wake ups.
