And we find in the Middah of Betuchen and Confidence in Hashem, there are three levels.
there's the highest level somebody has completed that he doesn't have to do anything he relies completely on hashem just like a little baby has complete confidence in the mother and just cries and the mother gives it food same thing the person has complete confidence he doesn't have to do anything he just asks hashem and hashem gives it to him and then there is the second level of which somebody he believes there is hashem and he knows hashem runs the world but he believes that he has to do a certain amount of in order to get to what he needs so in order for him to get um money, he knows he has to go to work.
In order for him to get saved, he knows he has to call the police.
Whatever it is, he knows he has to do betuchen, because he has to do a shtadlis, because even though he has betuchen Hashem, he still believes that, yes, betuchen is fine, but we still need to do a shtadlis.
And we discussed this in the past, from the Baal Shem Tov, that there's an idea, a concept, of depending how much betuchen you have, That's how much eshtadlis you have to make.
The more betuchen you have in Hashem, the less eshtadlis you have to make.
The less betuchen you have in Hashem, the more eshtadlis you have to make.
And obviously, we have to remember not to confuse betuchen in Hashem with laziness.
Because laziness is not being, I'm not going to go to work because I'd rather have betuchen in Hashem.
No, you're not going to work because you're lazy.
Having betuchen in Hashem is having full confidence in Hashem.
And then there's the third level of somebody who doesn't have any confidence in Hashem at all, and he relies completely on his own Heshtadlis.
Whatever he does, I work, I earn, I spend.
Nothing to do with Hashem.
Hashem, yeah, could be.
There is maybe Hashem, but Hashem wants us to work.
