In this episode, I'm joined by Kalina, a mum I've had the pleasure of supporting since her daughter Nina was just a few weeks old. Together, we reflect on their journey through newborn sleep, sleep…
So if you had to say something to people, parents that are listening right now, what do you think you would, you would tell them about sleep?
Um, I would say as a, as a message of hope that, uh, it's a small, short, uh, time of life, right? And, like, now that my daughter's a good sleeper, I just, I really savor all the moments that I can cuddle her and, and be with her.
And so now it's a wonderful time, and I think that I...
A lot of people maybe accept that all babies just sleep poorly for a really long time, and I think if we never worked together that would've been the case.
We would've just been dealing with a lot of night wakings, and she...
Again, she wouldn't have been a, a terrible sleeper, but we would've been much tired, much more tired parents for sure.
So I am such a believer in just routine can just...
It's amazing how much that routine and a little bit of, it's not even tough love.
Like, it's barely even tough, you know? It's just a little bit of a boundary has been-
It's just knowing.
Yeah.
Exactly.
So to get help, right? So whenever things are being a bit tough, get help because- The change it makes, it's just incredible sometimes.
Yeah.
Just by changing bedtime or by putting an extra layer of clothes or by switching off the light or by these things that, um, you might not be able to recognize on your own.
Just another person that has experience that is in front of you and is asking you all of these questions will be able to find out what, what could be the, the trick in each phase.
Exactly.
Okay.
So, yeah, thank you so much, Kalina.
I truly love your story.
Um, um, and Nina is such a cutie little thing.
You should all meet her.
She's just the most adorable little funny thing.
