We've got another Summer Friday mini episode for you to sail through to your weekend! We talk about the cats rescued from an abandoned sailboat in Tacoma, hairball maintenance, and why your cat wants…
Krista MoyHost
The vessel was reported by beachgoers as abandoned, and when police came to investigate, they discovered a dozen cats were on board, and then that number just, like, kept multiplying.
I think they were like, "Oh, it's a dozen," and then they were like, "Oh, no, wait, it's 30." And then by the end, they were like, "It's actually 60 cats." Rescue efforts lasted six days.
It took that long to find how many cats were aboard this vessel, and officials are still not even confident that all the cats were found, um, because we all know how good, how expert cats are at hiding.
This, [chuckles] this photo smells so bad, and these poor cats were found frightened and malnourished.
Um, I'm glad that they're safe now, and I really hope that they can find out, like, who is responsible for this situation.
W- how did these cats get here? You know, is there anyone to hold accountable? Like, how does this even happen? But I'm currently reading the book Poet's Square by Courtney Gustafson, and, uh, she talks all about how, uh, she moved into a house that was pretty much home to 30 feral cats that were outdoor.
So, um, she, like, is, you know, talking about cataloging them and how it became kind of like a reality show.
Like, she was obsessed with them and checking in on, like, who's, like, up to what.
And I can see this being, like, a crazy reality show or just, like, a crazy, like, documentary.
[chuckles] Like, just someone needs to document this or, like, recreate this somehow 'cause this is such an amazing, like, these cats...
Just the, the randomness of this, um, I f- I do feel so bad for these cats, but it's an incredible, amazing story, the rescue efforts that were involved, um, and now these are all going to, um, the rescue, um, society in Tacoma.
Like, what happened? [chuckles] What happened here? If anybody knows anything, I would love to have that person on the podcast.
Um, if there's anyone that's connected to this story in any way that wants to talk about it, um, please slide into our DMs.
