84: Northwoods Musky Report Sept. 18th 2206

Yeah, actually, I've actually been doing a fair amount of muskie fishing.

It's been pretty solid over the last week.

Water temperatures are slowly dropping, but fairly stable in the mid-60s.

Fish have been pretty active.

And I'm pretty much getting, maybe there's like a half day in there or so that we hooked the fish, lost it, but otherwise we've caught fish

pretty much every time out.

That's good.

One note I'd wanted to make, I should have said right off the top, was temperatures started cooling down last Saturday.

That's when the cold fronts started having a little impact.

And, you know, we've been talking about for probably three weeks now that water temps have remained pretty constant.

So they just started going down, cooler nights, cooler daytime highs.

And, yeah, Frosty was in yesterday.

He was out on a lake that he goes to quite a bit.

It was only down to 68, so only dropped three degrees.

Um, and that was on a Wednesday,

I believe when he came in.

So, uh, forecast is looking good.

Um, in terms of fall fishing opportunities, uh, looks like today, Friday, the 18th of September, we're looking at a low to mid sixties every day and thirties and forties at night.

So.

I mean, correct me if I'm wrong, but kind of a slow drop down.

I think it was kind of a sudden deal over the weekend.

I did talk to one guy on Saturday that caught an enormous super hog on a local lake.

Saturday morning.

Might have been just on the onset of when it was that first cool night we had.

And also Monday night was, I don't know if you guys were on the water, Monday night.
