A quick update on what to expect from Season 2 and when to expect it.
Orlando de LangeHost
One of the fun twists I have lined up for Season 2 is that every other episode is going to deviate from the main story of the science and social context of GMO crops, and instead dive into the public understanding of science, basically exploring the relationship between professional scientists and everyone else, who mediates the relationship, how, and why.

And actually the first episode in that alternative track is going to focus on the question, what is science? And you may find the answers both more and less straightforward than you think.

This season of Modified is going to follow a chronology, but one that starts in the 20th century and then pretty quickly gets into the 90s, so that we focus our time on the recent history, the present and the future of GMOs, looking at the warring sides in the GMO debate, and really trying to understand the different arguments made for and against the use of GMO crops in agriculture.

And I'll also be dipping in more of my own thoughts and feelings now that I've safely gone through the basic science behind what GMOs are and how they work.
