#177 The Science, Safety and Future of Infrared Sauna with Sunlighten's Joie Risk

Welcome back to the Modern Wellness Podcast.

Now, today we have an interview show with me, Sammy, and I'm joined by Joie Risk from Sunlight.

And Joie, welcome to the show.

Thank you

for having

me.

Now, I'm really excited for this conversation because we have been talking for a long time about doing this.

You have...

Lots of fans already with the Modern Wellness Podcast.

My wife and co-host Adrienne is one of the biggest sauna fans and red light sauna fans.

And Ollie, the other co-host, is some like an ambassador.

Yep.

So it's safe to say that you have, yeah, some fans already in your corner.

And I love, I've used the saunas and love the products as well.

Now, today we're going to talk about the, I suppose, the booming sauna market.

We're going to talk about the science behind heat and light therapy.

the differences between traditional finish and infrared saunas, which I think is really important, sauna safety, corporate wellness, and really why quality matters, because as we'll discuss, not all saunas are created equally.

Earlier this year, there's a Guardian article that described Britain's sauna boom as being driven not just by health and recovery, but also by a growing desire for community and human connection.
