What If Pregnancy Actually Made You Stronger? with England International Lark Atkin-Davies What happens when your body has always been your performance tool… and suddenly its purpose changes…
Lark Atkin-DavisGuestPipHostThank you so much for joining us because you are currently very, very heavily pregnant.
Just navigated a heatwave.
How are you doing?

Um, yeah, the heat has been challenging at times, um, and now 37 weeks pregnant, so I think part of me still probably thinks I'm in, like, my second tr- trimester in terms of being like, "Oh, I'll just crack on." But another part of me is like, "No, actually, right, let's make sure that we've got everything in place to make sure that can manage the heat," and yeah, feel good going into sort of these really important latter stages.
Oh, I love it.
You are literally ready to pop any moment, aren't you?
Quite literally at full-term, which is so exciting because, Lark, it generally feels like two weeks ago that you said that you were pregnant.
I can't believe you are now here, full-term, 37 weeks.
I mean, it's, it's flown by for me.
I don't know whether it feels like it's gone that quickly for you guys.

It's one of those weird ones where I think, like, it's gone really quickly, but also at the same time, I've seen every season whilst being pregnant, so I think it's-
[laughs]

... like, I've spoken to loads of people that have, you know, been pregnant, had children themselves, and they're like, "Yeah, it's such a weird sort of situation," because you're like, "This has flown by," but also, I have been pregnant a long time now.
Yeah.
And I think sometimes you're like, I can't remember life necessarily before pregnancy, but equally I don't feel like I've been pregnant that long yet.
I feel like w- we must have longer until our baby comes.
I think as soon as you become pregnant, forever, time is this weird warped thing because then you suddenly have this baby where every 24 hours feels like a week, but you blink and they're one.
