56: Welcome to Our Homeschool Era | Sharing Our Story of Why We Chose to Homeschool and What This Will Look Like Moving Forward

I am really, really pumped to talk about this.

I love school.

I love school.

So getting to talk about school and my past with school and our homeschool journey, I think that this stuff is going to be really cool to kind of sit and unpack together and to just kind of explore this topic and to just kind of explain what this looks like for our family.

Like I said in the intro, this was never really something that we planned or expected.

This was something that the Lord just kind of prompted in our hearts and started to stir within me and kind of just gently placed in my lap.

And that is kind of how we got here.

But it is so much more complicated than that, right? I feel like that's my 10 second spiel of why we homeschool.

But now let's take it into the deeper part.

But in order to understand our homeschool journey, you have to better understand my journey.

So here's a little bit of a backstory on me.

Like I said, I love school to the point where that's like what I did as a kid.

I would play school in my room.

I would grade papers.

I would work on my writing because I really wanted to be have like good penmanship on the whiteboard when I was a teacher and I would create tests and give them out to my family and make them take these tests that made no sense or, you know, those kinds of things that it was just fun.

And I always enjoyed pretending to be a teacher.

I'm the really weird kid who enjoyed school.

I loved school.

everything about school.

I had a really good school experience as a kid, not necessarily from a social aspect.

I would get excited about going to class.

I would get excited about doing certain things, and I think that I have just always had a love for learning and for school in general.

So this passion to be a teacher, this passion to pass on a love for learning to younger generations has always been been a part of me and this was something that i think really kind of started to take root when i was in high school and everybody's asking this big question of well what are you gonna do what are you gonna go to college for like what's gonna be your career and that's where i really think everything started to settle for me i think i finally decided like yeah, teaching is what I really want to do.

And so I started looking into different opportunities and different schools in my state or around the country that really specialized in education.

And when I was in high school, I was doing internships with my elementary school and I was working with a babysitting a lot at the time.
