What happens when you grow up never really learning what love is supposed to feel like? Jeremy joins me again for The Men’s Mental Health Series, and this conversation starts with something a lot of…
Well, so it's interesting you, you mention that because I think y- you have generations of kids that have grown up, like you said, in the digital world in front of screens.
They haven't been doing a lot of social interaction.
But I find when I'm out in the world talking to people that are, are kind of like within our age range, I, I think a lot of people have actually lost those skills.
So yeah, the fact that you're even taking the time to, you know, these detailed things of, of ordering at restaurants, like telling people exactly what it is that you want, being, you know, polite, being kind.
Um, I mean, these are, these are, these are things that maybe people wouldn't necessarily think of, like right off the rip.

Having manners.
I mean just-
[laughs]
I mean back, ba-back to the roots man.
I mean, I grew up with s- you know, we grew up in an age where there's like a lotta t- lot of tough love but tough love isn't real love 'cause you don't feel it.
We was talking about lo- You don't, you don't feel the tough love.
You may b- you may be able pr- appreciate the lessons that you can learn from tough love, but you don't feel it truly, and that creates some of the emptiness that we were talking about, right? 'Cause then you're like, then you're, i-it's almost like you have expectation of the, you know, the tough love.
You do things because o-this way, but it's like where's my hug and my kiss, man? I l- I, you know, I just wanted-
Yeah
... to be loved, man.
I j- need that hug.
Yeah.
And I think a lot of m-maybe men don't get that as you get into be nine, 10, 11, 12.
You know, you don't, you don't get that real physical hug from some of the people that you love, and you need that.
You know, you need to feel that to, to, to truly feel it in your heart.
And I, you know, I, I'm blessed that after all of I have been through and all the hard shit that I've, I've done, that I've ...
I said self-love's important and I do everything, I, I push myself extremely hard, but the benefits that I could have on the world and other people are exponential.
If, if I'm in good mental health I can put smiles on peoples' faces.
It's not that...
