Ep 84 The Tilt Table-Rita: Inside Netflix's The Crash and the Science of POTS

It's, um, basically a big dive into this very significant case, uh, true crime case that came in the past few years, and it's a case about a, a crash that killed two people.

And basically, the outcome of the case has sort of divided the internet on what's what, who's who, who's guilty, who's not.

And although the documentary mentions the illness that we're going to talk about, it didn't dive deep enough into it, and so that, of course, raises some doubts for me.

Well, I think it didn't dive deep enough into it because it didn't really sound like anyone really took it seriously.

Right.

True.

Yeah.

It was kinda like, "Oh, that's another excuse."

Yeah.

So, you know, they, they basically show you this, this group of friends, um, that's been hanging out.

The, the main character's basically Mackenzie Shirilla.

She's 17 years old.

Um, her boyfriend, Dom Russo, one of their best friends, Davion, who's, um...

He was a football star in high school-

Mm-hmm

... trying to figure out what he's doing with life next.

And they bring in a couple of other friends that were part of their friend group.

And, you know, this girl, Mackenzie, they show that she was definitely trying to be, like, an, a influencer, taking pictures of everywhere, you know, the makeup, the hair, you know, all of the, the Instagram, TikTok type stuff.

Um, so there's a lot of video of her just in general in life.

But it's very much that put-on show life.

Also, I'm sure you, you've noticed this, this young woman is extremely thin.

Like, extremely thin.

Did that jump out at you?

It's funny.

I'm like, I'm like, "But, like, all those bitches are thin."
