On this week's episode of the Massively OP Podcast, Bree and Justin talk about *EverQuest Legends'* big launch week, *Final Fantasy XIV's Evercold* reveals, *Guild Wars 3's* backstory, social sim MMO…
And you said you didn't have a lot of time to play this weekend because you had some fun stuff to deal with on the site.
Justin...
Yeah, I definitely want to start out by pointing out, if you haven't read Paul's memo from Friday, about a week and a half, less than that ago, WordPress discovered an exciting vulnerability.
And we did not catch it in the couple of days it took hackers to figure out ways to exploit this vulnerability and hack millions of websites.
So I'm saying hack, but I'm putting it in quotes because First off, I should probably be less scary.
There's not really a whole lot that anybody listening needs to worry about.
It was mostly a nuisance for Paul and for me because we spent like the last five days cleaning this up and shoring everything up and investigating and trying to figure out, are these guys really bad at this? And the answer was these guys were really bad at this.
So, yeah, we actually figured it out because that we were.
vulnerable to this because somebody on reddit thank you to reddit i'm gonna say something nice about reddit for once i know somebody was like hey what happened to massively op and you know what i almost didn't read it
I know.
I saw the same thing.
I'm like, oh, they're going to take a dump on us.
That's what I said.
They're going to be like, well, they suck now.
And it's always some, you know, they didn't like this one thing.
So they've decided that our last 50,000 articles also suck.
And I just don't even want to read that.
Nothing will come of that.
So I almost didn't click it, but I did.
And the person was actually like, yeah, I've been trying to get to their site for like a day and it hasn't worked.
And I was like, what are you guys talking about? Like, I've been working on the site all day long, posting things that the site is up.
I'm clicking on it.
Their site is fine.
And you said you didn't have a lot of time to play this weekend because you had some fun stuff to deal with on the site.
