I think one of the biggest problems in trauma-informed parenting is that we can accidentally turn healing into another impossible standard.

But somewhere along the way, we can start believing that if we ever lose our patience, if we ever yell, if we ever get overwhelmed, if we ever respond imperfectly, we've failed.

We've ruined everything, and suddenly the cycle-breaking mother is expected to be a woman who's perpetually calm, always patient, always regulated, always emotionally available, always attuned, always aware, always getting it right.

That's a freaking unicorn, and I don't know about you, but I don't have the time nor do I have the energy to parent like a mythical creature.
