Iran on the Ground- Past the Headlines

Okay.

So yeah, you know the country pretty well.

Yeah.

I mean, I like to think so.

So where all have you been in the country? And like, I would like you to paint it in a, you know, geographic way, you know, like, oh, the North, here, South, just tell me where all have you been?

Yeah, sure.

So I'm obviously, like, you always fly in and out of the capital, which is Tekron.

And so where my family are from is the province north, which is called Mazadaran.

And I am slightly biased, but it is an incredible, incredible province.

It is... very nature heavy it is all mountains like to get there from Tehran you have to like drive like through a mountain pass and then you get there and it's just all like mountains what they call jungle like which is like really more of like a forest like green gets a lot of snow like it is like waterfalls it is beautiful so that's where I would spend like the majority of my time Which is probably different than people that like, obviously would just like go there as tourists.

And then kind of the province beside that is called Gilan.

And so I've got family in there as well.

So I expect quite a bit of time there.

And then the site, like so not the site of Iran, but the site of Tehran, which I would say listening probably might have heard of a little bit more because they are more of the like traveled places.

So last year I did like a road trip.

down and visited those so i think they're like the main spots i've been to i really want to get further south and that's the next plant the next time i go to go to the islands

oh yeah they look incredible all the places you've named i mean they all look look unreal i mean the nature there just looks incredible so let's say i had one week but also two weeks in iran You can tell me places that you've seen, but also doesn't have to be.

But what is the perfect one week and then two week itinerary?

I would say if you're a traveler, I would say like, so if you've got time, like you must go there because they are the formative parts of both the country and the Persian empire as a whole.

Like there's so much of the

Persian empire, both still in those cities.

But as somebody that like travels a lot, I would honestly say to have further south.

And you will definitely want to spend time in Tehran.

Tehran is just a vibe.

Like, it is so much fun.
