This week Joel talks with: Dennis Piechowski, Hutchinson Volleyball -- Andrea Raster, Watertown Mayer Volleyball -- Nathan Youngs, Dassel Cokato Girls Swimming.
And coach, uh, boy, kind of, kind of an up and down season, some wins, some losses.
Uh, y- what, what are your thoughts on the season to this point here?
Yeah, you know, you take away the first week of the season when we were trying to figure things out, went to White Bear and, and New Ulm.
Uh, after that week, we actually have been playing better and practicing harder, and we're getting better every week.
But, uh, like you said earlier and on I think the previous one that you did on the r- r- radio, inconsistency, and I kind of have been telling people it's kind of like we'll take three steps forward.
We'll, we'll play some really good games or parts of games, and then all of a sudden we'll take four steps back.
It would be nice as a, you know, a seasoned head coach if we could at least get moving in the same direction.
When you mention three steps forward, one of those steps forward I thought was at the Heritage Christian tournament.
Uh, you got four wins, you know, a- another one that you tied.
Technically, you, I, I believe you got a loss on that one, but it was, it w- it was a tie.
So-
... you know, four or five really good matches there.
I mean, talk about that tournament and what you, what you did there.
I think they're number one right now in class 2A, and we competed with them, but again, we just were close but not, you couldn't get to the finish line.
And I think going into Heritage Christian really kind of helped us out because, um, the, the levels of play was a little bit lower than us, so the expectation should be that we should be able to compete.
I think they're number three in their section right now with Watertown, and that's always a tough one.
Uh, but then we got to the championship game and got to play Mabel-Canton, which it seems like we've been to that tournament now five, six years, and the two of us always get into the championship.
And coach, uh, boy, kind of, kind of an up and down season, some wins, some losses.
