In this segment, we're going to continue to look to the Holy Spirit for His guidance and equipping power in order to operate fully in His discernment that is critical for us to stand strong in His truth, for the days are evil and discernment's cry has gone forth.
Discernment goes hand in hand with knowledge, and knowledge is held in the revelation of God's truth.
In 1 John 4:1, we are given this sacred exhortation, "Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world." And in Hebrews 4:12, "For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and the intentions of the heart." In a commentary written for The Iron Quill entitled Discernment in a Deceptive Age, they offer thought-provoking insight regarding deception in these last prophetic minutes of the last hour and the necessity now more than ever for God's people to be operating with the Holy Spirit's discernment.
I'll be gleaning from this valuable insight that they offer while adding additional Holy Spirit insight along the way.
