Can the Duke Football RECOVER From Their First 2026 Loss Before Facing North Carolina?

Alongside my good friend Hugh Straine, I'm JJ Jackson, Duke of North Carolina on Saturday in football from Wallace Wade Stadium.

It's the middle of October, Hugh, and this has just always been one of those things that kind of bothers me about the schedule.

I know that there have been some back and forth about where the rivalry game should be played.

I want it to be the last game of the year.

I'm traditional in that way, and for whatever reason, it has been years and years and years since that's been the case.

The argument for some would be that that coincides with Thanksgiving weekend and so many of your students at these schools are going to be traveling and it's not going to be the biggest of crowds and whatnot.

Understand what this matchup means on the basketball floor, and these schools are not known for their football programs.

But show up to the games if it is at the end of the year.

I don't know.

I'd like to see a full season building up to Duke and North Carolina.

What do you think?

I agree with you.

I mean, obviously, Duke and North Carolina on the basketball court is the most anticipated rivalry in the game.

It'd be great to get more of a fan turnout for it on the football field because I think Duke for sure is absolutely on an upwards trajectory on the football field than North Carolina.

Could

you imagine if one year they're like, hey, one of these Duke and North Carolina basketball games, it's not going to be the last game of the season.

That would just be silly.

That would be silly.

And here we are.

Yeah,

exactly.

I mean, yeah, I totally agree with you.

I think it'd be, you know, attendance is something you'd want to see more of.

I think I think on both sides.

And, you know, I think getting that rivalry week feel when you're sort of building up to it all.
