Send us Fan Mail Does your morning coffee actually matter for Parkinson's disease? In this episode of *Live Parkinson's – Live an Exceptional Life*…
All right, let's start super simple, because most of us drink this stuff every day without knowing what it actually is.
And a couple of other plants that you've probably never heard of, like guarana and yerba mate.
Now, basically, plants make their own little wake-up juice, and we've been drinking it for centuries.
Let me just give you a quick cheat sheet on where you might find caffeine.
A regular cup of coffee has somewhere between 95 and 200 milligrams of caffeine.
Those big energy drinks that you buy often have 150 to 200 milligrams or more of caffeine, more than your coffee by far.
But coffee is brewed so much hotter than caffeine that more caffeine actually ends up in your cup than with the tea.
So coffee still wins on delivery, even though tea has more of the caffeine raw material in it.
Now, most healthy humans can comfortably handle up to about 400 milligrams a day.
But safe for most people and the right amount for Parkinson's are two different conversations.
