Set my thoughts

oh yeah that was um started off with uh peven everett with hang up or heat up and uh followed by odin and vetso with lauren and uh yes today we're going to focus on the bass bring it on I'm just playing the bass riff of Heat Up again, the Evan Everett track, because it is such a nice bass and it really complements or it brings all these elements together.

Like it's super funky.

The vocals in the track are super soulful.

But of course, it's a club track as well.

That's the amazing thing.

So I'm playing the bass riff in the background and I want you to count along, you know, it's a four to the floor beat.

And the bass riff starts on the one and it finishes on the three.

So that leaves this whole space between three and four.

And at the first beat, they leave the space, well, empty.

And then after that, you know, they fill it up with some frills leading up to the one again.

And this is the classic what Bootsy Collins says, you know, you've got to start a funk bass.

It's all about the one, you know, go back to the one.
