Conditioned to Be Nice: The Dangers of Ignoring Your Gut

Yeah, basically over the summer, I started seeing a new MLD therapist who was a man.

And going into that situation, I was a little nervous just because I typically, anyone that I've ever gotten a massage from has been female.

So just a little nervous, but I thought he comes pretty highly recommended.

We'll go give this a shot.

There are not a whole lot of people in my hometown that know and understand and are like licensed to do manual lymphatic drainage.

So that's the other part.

So you go where you have resources, right? And I talk a little bit about this in the reel that I put up.

But the very first session, I'm laying there and kind of nervous.

And the only thing I have on are my underwear and I'm under the sheet.

And he comes in, turns the lights down crazy low.

Might as well just turn the lights off.

But then other times he would leave the lights really bright.

So it was just very inconsistent.

Yeah.

The first thing he says to me is, you are in a very vulnerable situation right now.

You are naked on the table and you're in my hands.

And he was the type of person that...

When you first meet him, you think, oh, this is like for docile, almost like one of the girls type of a guy, if that makes sense.

So it puts your defenses down a little bit.

You always got to watch

out for those.

You do.

And I do have

discernment.

And my discernment was saying, you are aware that you come across that way and you're hiding behind that.
