Making friends as an adult is weird. In this episode, we're talking about friendships, confidence and what it actually takes to put yourself out there and find your people. We chat about how we've…
oh so today's episode is all about building friendships social anxiety and how to be confident yeah i love this topic i think it's gonna be really fun i think it's gonna be a really nice topic as well tell me em how do you feel as though you have found your core friendships
Ooh, okay, I've definitely picked up my girlies along the way through my job, you know, truly.
I found a lot of the close friendships and I think it's probably pretty unique to being a fitness instructor or being in the fitness industry.
I guess it does kind of break down that barrier because people are already coming to you and it's easy to have communication and sort of like chat about things their lives and get to know people pretty quickly, I think in that context.
And it's something that I do really love about my job is I get to learn a lot about new people and you get to find out, you know, about people and you can quickly pick up like, oh yeah, we were on the same page with that or we have similar interests.
I guess the next step to that is I just don't have any nervous filter of like asking people to do stuff.
I'm like, Hey, do you want to come? Like, I remember my friend, one of my like best friends now I had met her.
She came to an event that I hosted, like a Pilates event, literally never had met her before.
We just followed each other on socials.
And she came to my event and I immediately was like, I really like you.
And that day I met her.
I was
like, Hey, do you want to come to my house for Easter? I'm like, come hang out with all my other friends.
And she's like, yeah.
Brought food, like slotted in, was just like with all of the other groups.
Easy breezy.
And I was just like, yeah, if you like someone, just – Say it and just like ask them to do stuff.
I think it's the nonchalant of it all and like I will put my heart on my sleeve.
I'm like, I like you.
Do you want to come hang out with me? I feel like that's how I kind of pick up a lot of friendships.
I kind of almost just like make them be my friends.
Yeah, exactly.
You're like
letting them know that you enjoy their company and you need to hang out more.
I
