And I know that it comes with also its challenges, where I think as leaders you have to, because you're not always in the same room with your people, you have to really rely on empowering your teams-

I mean, and trust.
So what is, what- what does it mean, like, when you think about...
I- I feel like the word empowerment is thrown around a lot.
It's like, "Oh, you're empowered." And it's like, well, not really.
It's like The Princess Bride, "I don't think that word means what you really think it means." [laughs]
It- it... and sometimes they throw it around and be like, "Yeah, you're empowered to do that as long as you do what I want," or as long as you tell-
... "Let me micromanage every line of whatever you're writing or doing," right?
But when you think about in the- in the context of your team and- and how you all operate, what does empowerment mean to you?

And empowerment is more than, like, you know, you talk about people delegating, delegate this, delegate that, but I think empowerment is maybe delegation with trust or intention, you know, intention with trust.

I'm- I'm trusting you to make the decisions about this." And I do think, though, it's easy to say that, but what does that mean? And I think that it comes down to in order to effectively empower, you have to have very clear goals, you have to have very clear ideas of what you want your outcomes to be, and you have to create those boundaries of this is how far your empowerment goes so that w- the person that's being empowered has the ability to say, "Okay, I can make this decision no problem," but then when it comes to a decision that may be outside their bounds, that they are not relying on their leader to set, to come to them, but they're coming back to the leader to say, "Hey, this is a little outside of my wheelhouse.
That's awesome.
