How about that? Today I have, like I said, a solo episode and I want to start it off with a question and I want you to actually think about the question before we move on with the rest of the show.

If somebody called you right now It might be a friend, a colleague, somebody who you met recently and said, I need your help with something and you are the first person I thought of.

What would they be calling you about? Not what you went to school for, not what your job title says.

What do people actually come to you for when they have problems and they need a solution? What is the thing that when somebody needs it, your name is always the one that rises to the top of the list? Now, it's probably going to take you a few minutes to think about this, and there's definitely no wrong answers, but I'm not going to take a few minute pause so that you can think about it and then say, okay, Jessie, I know what it is.

And today we're going to talk about what superpowers actually are, how to find yours, how to understand why you have them, and what to do with them once you know them.

Because here's what I know from years of working with job seekers, building businesses, watching people navigate their careers, the people who know their superpowers and can articulate them clearly are the people who stand out.

They... are such better problem solvers because they know somebody isn't just randomly calling me about this thing.

And the people who don't know their superpower, they're usually the ones who feel like something is missing, like they haven't quite found their place in life yet, or maybe they're somebody who they keep applying for jobs and the job is just not the right thing and it does not light them up.

And knowing your superpowers doesn't just change how you present yourself professionally, but it really changes how you show up everywhere.

And I do want to add, I'm sure that somebody is listening to this right now and they're rolling their eyes thinking, Jesse, I am not freaking Superman.

When I say superpower, I'm not talking about the thing that you're proud of on your resume.

And I'm not talking about a skill that you learned in a training program or in a certification that you earned.

A superpower is the thing that you are naturally, almost inexplicably gifted at.
