If you've been going through a content flop era - I've GOT you. In my first episode back after some serious life stuff halted the podcast, I'm sharing all the thoughts and feels around getting back…
So the two things that I found it really, really difficult to get back into after this extended break is talking head content, video content of me chatting to camera and this podcast.
but I do sometimes kind of feel like I need to be in, in like good energy for them.
And also because those things are my highest impact pieces of content, because I know that they do a lot for me, I have been overthinking them massively.
And that's why I really, really wanted to talk about this topic today, because I also know so many of my clients struggle with exactly the same thing because we have all had that feeling when you've had like a little bit of a break from content and then your first post back feels really hard because you feel like you have to like somehow come back properly or do some sort of announcement or you know like come back with a bang or any of these silly things and realistically no one cares and you could literally just start back and say anything because a lot of people won't even know that you've been away etc etc we know we we've all been through this And the thing is, is that I see clients go through this all the time.
And whenever they say, well, what should my first post back be? I always say, just do whatever makes you post.
Do an announcement, don't do an announcement, share what's happened, don't share what's happened.
Or you can literally come back like nothing has happened because realistically people aren't necessarily gonna notice in the same way that you are thinking about it.
And there's just not really a perfect strategy here except the one that helps you show up and post again.
And I feel like this episode in a really kind of meta way is a classic example of this.
I think I could have come back earlier but there were a few things holding me back.
The first thing, this is such a silly one, I'm almost embarrassed to admit it, but I have been wanting to rename the podcast.
That means I can relaunch it when I come back with a new name and, like, new branding and I can start filming it and I can, you know, start as I mean to go on.
But the thing is, is that, like, I'm not really in the headspace to do that right now.
So... what that has meant is that I haven't been doing anything for the podcast because I've been waiting for the perfect conditions when really I probably could have come back a few weeks ago and could have been chatting to you like this and again this isn't this isn't to beat myself up you know there's been a lot going on etc etc it's fine but I notice this pattern in clients all the time where you have the perfect idea of what something looks like in your head.
