Calvin LackeyHostIn weightlifting, 2008 to 2016 had some of the greatest lifts, battles, and upsets in the history of the sport.
And in this video, I'm joined by Weightlifting House to reminisce on what many call the golden era of weightlifting.
Best Step podcast.
I'm Coach Brian.
I'm the owner of Big Bend Strength, and I've been teaching Olympic lifting for 11 years now.

I am a captain of weightlifting over at Lindenwood University, as well as owner of Lionheart Weightlifting and a coach through Big Bend
Strength.
I am joined today by Seb.
Seb, thank you for joining us.
I had such fun the last time, and I love talking about weightlifting, so there's nowhere better to go with you guys.
All right, so what I wanted to do with this one today, because you're such a fan of the sport, and you were also in the sport a little bit before I got into it, which means that you kind of have this like, you were a fan of the sport back when there wasn't that much media going on, but it was also, I think a lot of people look back on it and call it like the golden era of weightlifting in some ways, like pre-2016, right? There was a lot of pretty impressive lifting happening.
And I think now at this point, a lot of the newer lifters may not know some of these legends because of that.
So I figured what we do is a little bit of a crash course in 2008 to 2016 era weightlifting because I feel like – I don't know enough about it.
I'm sure Calvin doesn't know enough about it, but you do.
So let's go ahead and get into this first question here.
