Volunteers rarely quit because of the kids — they quit because of what's (or isn't) happening around them. We're getting honest about the real reasons children's ministry volunteers walk away, and…
Yeah, yeah.
I think everybody struggles.
So what are your first
thoughts?
Well, everybody struggles.
Yeah.
This could be a little sensitive at times, I think, because...
But yet we want it.
One of the things I think we want to help everybody avoid is being too negative on the volunteers because there's a lot of volunteer bashing that happens in children's ministry Facebook groups.
Um, and that critical spirit can come out, um, in a lot of ways and hurt your recruiting.
So, yeah, I'm, I'm anxious to get into this conversation a little bit and see, uh, what, how we're going to, how we're going to talk this through.
Um, but I think people will walk away.
I hope they'll walk away with some good practical ideas of, Hey, what do I do when they do quit on me? And, um, And how can I make this better? Because, you know, this is just going to be the beginning of a couple different podcasts on volunteers.
So I hope our listeners will either watch on YouTube or stay tuned on the audio, one or the other.
But I definitely think it's a real thing.
When you said we were coming in hot on
season three, last episode, you start hot and definitely a hot topic for sure.
It is.
All right.
If we're doing hot topics, I'm going to jump in.
I'm going to ask you guys a hot topic.
Oh, let's go.
Oh boy.
Here we
go.
Yeah, yeah.
