One of the first things that I did as like a celebration for writing and publishing my first book, Not Quite Snow White, was that I actually, I didn't know how to swim.

And so, you know, swim lessons can be expensive and not every child has the opportunity to swim.

And so just highlighting the fact that this is something that Musa values on Wednesday.

I think it makes it tender and, you know, teachers and educators can dig a little bit deeper about, you know, historical connections to who was allowed to swim when and where you know in the united states so there's lots of layers that can be added on depending on the level of the child and how deep an educator or a parent really wants to go and that's not just for musa that's for any of the children yeah
Everyone's going to be thinking about what their favorite day is and why, but there are opportunities if and when caregivers and teachers are willing and able to go deeper and to allow the book to be the catalyst for something else to bring us together in our actual lives and once we are done with the pages of the book.
