During a visit to Fishers of Men Ministries' school campuses in Kenya, board member and CPA Tom Hammar noticed something he's never forgotten: kids gathered just outside the gates who weren't yet…
Well, I call this almost like a haunting story.
I mean, it's not a happy, sunny picture I have, but as we were working in both of the locations in western and eastern Kenya, outside the schoolyard of where the academies were, there was always gathered a bunch of children that were on the outside looking in.
They had a great interest in the ministry.
but had no connection because there weren't sponsored children at that point and the resources are limited.
So we can't just sponsor everybody.
And so that was an image I still have vividly in my mind saying, boy, what's going to happen to these kids? Because we know if they're part of Fisher's Amendment, they're going to be getting good square meals.
They're going to be getting a great education, a Christian education and an introduction to the gospel and just really great teachers that care about them.
So the difference between being on the inside and being on the outside of the gates there is huge.
And so we'd like to have many more sponsored kids.
The need is huge.
