And then for a backup center, yes, they have Kessler, they have Mamou Kalashvili, and then they have Kevon Looney.
But maybe not a direct, full-time, reliable backup.
Could there be an answer maybe with a FIBA World Cup standout? A guy that's been in the NBA? A guy that's, you know, back to what he maybe once was and is still only 25 years old? There's been some recent uproar, some recent talk about Kai Jones, a former first round draft pick in the NBA, a guy that unfortunately went off the rails in what like 2023, posting stuff on social media, clearly not in the right mindset, eventually being waived and cut, having to leave the NBA.

He's put up roughly 12 points per game, six and a half rebounds per game, two assists per game, and over two blocked shots per game.
So could he or should he be an option for their team? At this point, he does have one year left of two-way contract eligibility.
On top of that, he could obviously be a training camp invite.
Right now, the Lakers have 16 players under contract on their 15-man roster, in addition to three two-way contracts, making a total of 19.
And you can have 20 training camp players on your training camp roster.
So right now, they could offer one more deal, one more Exhibit 10 contract, to show up to their training camp and throw out their preseason run.
