And we close this week's episode with the news that Roger Vickers, the Chief Executive Officer of the PGRO, is to retire after 14 years at the helm.

Roger joined the organisation after 35 years in technical, commercial and senior management roles at Avanta Seeds, Germain's Technology Group and Toza Seeds.

And under his leadership, the PGRO has grown its breadth and depth of services to levy payers, as well as building its reputation internationally as a world-class authority in pulse production.

I spoke to Jack Ward, the chairman of the PGRO's trustees, who announced the news back in August.

He said that Roger will be greatly missed after many years of exemplary service to the pulse trade in the wider farming industry.

He has made an immense contribution to the growth of PGRO and leaves it in an extremely strong position going into the future.

Executive search firm Eden Search will lead the succession process and the successful candidate is asked to bring significant scientific credibility from an agricultural or biological sciences background and have a solid research and development foundation.

Critically, the PGRO is looking for the commercial acumen to identify and capitalise on opportunities to grow the PGRO's offering.

And on behalf of listeners to the podcast and people who have worked with Roger over the years, we wish him all the best.

We will have a special episode coming out before he leaves at the end of the year where we can reflect on his time at the PGRO and perhaps more importantly, where he sees the industry could develop in the future.
