How has a failure or apparent failure set you up for later success? I've

had so many failures that it's hard to choose one from.

But yeah, there was

one time that we convinced HP to do something

nuts.

It was essentially building the perfect machine, the one that our clients have been always asking for.

And we had gained enough credibility for the company to take that debt and invest a lot of money in it.

The machine itself was a failure because it arrived 10 years later.

So people were asking for those things for 10 years.

However, it ended up enabling a number

of modules that then enabled business strategies that had saved HP.

big time, because they were able to create very low-cost components that they've been able to use for much more expensive machines and be successful because they could sell very good machines with a lot of profit.

And I remember being criticized big time for convincing them to do it, but I think at the end of the day, they realized that they're still living out of what they created with that machine.

So there were so many different things that they've been able to And that's 15 years ago.

They are still using it.

So I think that's something that sometimes is hard to see.

And it was hard to see at the moment, but there's been a lot of leverage from that.

What's one of the most worthwhile investments that you've ever made, like an investment in money or time or energy?

Experiences is always the best investment.

Travel is probably the best investment you can make.

That's the investment I never regret.

Got our nieces over here on her.

She just turned 18 and she's traveling.

It's amazing to watch her eyes open up and all the things that she's learning.

It's fantastic.
