Cyclones Grab First Win Of The Szn In Electric Fashion + Interview w/ Jackson Maddock & Owen Gohm

So another thing I mentioned in the intro, the Cyclones wish I had better news on the last episode, but not exactly the most ideal start to the season.

They had a regulation and an overtime loss earlier.

to the Peoria Mustangs.

Lost both games out in Peoria, Illinois to the Mustangs and weren't able to tally a win in those first two games.

So 0-1-1, their current record after their first two games.

And honestly...

After a humbling start to the season, so to say, they had to go into another very tough building and play against another very tough team, the St. Louis Junior Blues, a team who was very competitive against Wausau last year.

They had a lot of really talented skaters.

Their coaching staff is well-respected around the league.

Just an all-around, very well-run organization.

Honestly, I have nothing but good things to say about the St. Louis Junior Blues.

But a very tough opponent for Wausau to go all the way down to the Afton Ice Rink in St. Louis and play against another divisional opponent.

Now, the one leg up that the Cyclones did have in this game is this was opening weekend for the Junior Blues.

They didn't play...

the weekend prior like the Cyclones did.

So the Cyclones, although both losses, a regulation and an overtime loss, they had two games under their belt.

They'd gotten their feet wet.

They'd gotten some skating and some game time under their legs, which was good for them.

Maybe able to give them some adversity in terms of getting in and getting involved in this next series against the St. Louis Junior Realists.

So as we always do here on the Inside Cyclones Hockey Podcast, we are going to go through both games.

Break down the stats.

Break down the scoring.

Break it all down.

Talk about where things are shaping up for the Cyclones after their third and fourth games of the season and their first weekend series against the St. Louis Junior Blues.

So, first game of the weekend.
