We did it in 2022 and 2023, and mentally I felt so bad in 2023, in the summer then, so burnt out that I thought to myself, "Never again." I just went over to Spain for that month with the kiddos and with my work, and the way I do it over there is I work for a week, take a break, work for another week, take a break, and then I'm home.

It just won't work out anymore." But, you know, we said we'd give it a go another time because we had such a good time in 2022 and it was so fabulous that we said we'd do it again this year, and it ended up being the best thing ever.

I got diagnosed with Crohn's disease this year, so I've spent parts of this year feeling really, really sick.

The infusions are working, and I was getting better and getting my infusions around the time that I was due to go away for this month.

It was kinda touch and go for a while, but then I was able to go, and I went thinking I wasn't gonna have a good time, and I kept on saying to myself and to Joe, "We'll go, and if it's not great, we'll change our flights, and we'll come home." So I kept on thinking that to myself, that I can come home early if I want to.

I know I was sick as well, so my world did get smaller, but I just realized when I was over there how much I needed to break the mundane routine of [laughs] doing the same things day in, day out, day in, day out, and it was so fantastic over there.

I got completely out of the comfort zone, mixed up the routine, went canyoning, kayaking, um, did so much fun stuff, so much outdoorsy things that was just absolutely fabulous.
